PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-rolling apparatus for a steel sheet which can eliminate a standby period of time for natural cooling, is applicable to existing facility with limited space and can precisely control the size of temperature drop by cooling. SOLUTION: In the hot-rolling apparatus for the steel sheet, which is provided with at least finish rolling apparatus on which a plurality of rolling stands are successively installed along the conveying direction of the steel sheet 5, a cooling-water jetting nozzle group 3 for cooling the steel sheet is provided on the front side of a first rolling stand F1 of a finish rolling apparatus. Thus, the size of the temperature drop per unit length when the steel sheet is cooled by the cooling-water jetting nozzle group 3 can be controlled freely within the range of 0 to 140 K/m and uniformly in the width direction.
