<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell separator having high joint strength and high sealing capability in the fuel cell separator integrated by joining two separators. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell separator is constituted by joining the outer peripheries of a first separator forming a fuel gas passage and a second separator forming an oxidant gas passage by welding. For example, a sealant (a high corrosion resistant material or resin) is applied to the ends of the first separator and/or the second separator and two separators are joined in the outer peripheral parts by welding. In this method, by heat generated in welding, the ends of the first separator and the second separator are sealed with the sealant. Since the two separators are joined in the outer peripheral part and bonded and sealed in the ends, the joining strength is increased and sealing capability of a cooling medium or the like is also increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
