The skate has a roller support frame (2), and two track rollers (4) that are arranged at the support frame. A shoe (1) is swivelably connected with the support frame around a swivel axis (3) parallel to track roller axes, and a brake assembly has a spring unit (7) and a brake shoe (5). The assembly is arranged in running direction behind the swivel axis, so that the brake shoe contacts one of the rollers from top while swiveling the shoe around the swivel axis against a forward rotating direction of the rollers and the spring tension of the spring unit. An independent claim is also included for a brake assembly for a roller skate comprising a spring unit and a brake shoe.
