<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively combining an SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) for increasing the efficiency in a hydrogen production process by water vapor electrolysis utilizing a reducing gas; to provide an effective method for reforming a reducing gas; to provide a method for producing hydrogen; and to provide a device for performing these methods. <P>SOLUTION: In the hydrogen production method, e.g., regarding a method where, in a high temperature water vapor electrolyzer wherein an electrolytic cell is partitioned into an anode chamber and a cathode by a solid oxide electrolyte membrane, water vapor is fed to the cathode chamber, a reducing gas is fed to the anode chamber, and the water vapor is electrolyzed in the cathode chamber, so as to produce hydrogen; a solid oxide fuel cell is driven in parallel with the high temperature water vapor electrolyzer, the exhaust gas exhausted from a fuel chamber in the solid oxide fuel cell is fed to the anode chamber in the high temperature water vapor electrolyzer, and electric power obtained by the solid oxide fuel cell is used as the electric power of the high temperature water vapor electrolyzer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
