PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide telephone set which is capable of stopping redialing of a facsimile machine on a reception side without receiving data transmitted from the facsimile machine when being called from the facsimile machine. SOLUTION: The telephone set is provided with a redialing inhibition switch for accepting a redialing inhibition indication for inhibiting redialing, from a calling device and a redialing inhibition signal transmission means for transmitting a redialing inhibition signal to the calling device in response to operation of the redialing inhibition switch.
