PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of outputting a good image and having good potential characteristic, and a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus with the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a compound selected from specific bipyridyl compounds represented by structural formulae (1)-(16) (compounds having pyridyl rings on both sides of a quinoid ring).
