Excellent optical recording method, optical recorder and an optical recording medium in which efficiency of recording/reproduction is high when recording/reproduction or focus/tracking control is performed using a laser beam, shift of the optical axis of a plurality of laser beams due to error of an optical recorder/reproducer has no effect, and layer structure of the optical recording medium itself is simplified. The optical recording method comprises a pattern position detecting step for irradiating an optical recording medium including a layer for recording information by utilizing holography and a pattern having at least track information and address information with any one of information light and reference light and detecting the pattern position from reflected light, and an interference image recording step for shifting the position of the optical axis of information light and reference light to a position other than the pattern position based on the detected pattern position information, forming an interference image by irradiating the recording layer with the information light and reference light and recording the interference image on the recording layer.
