The invention relates to novel squaric acid compounds of formula (I), wherei n R1, R2, R2', R2'' and X have the designations cited in patent claim 1. Said compounds can be inhibitors of CHK1 CHK2 and SGK kinases, and can be used to treat diseases and illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome (dyslipidaemia), systemic and pulmonal hypertonia, cardiovascular diseases and kidney diseases, generally for all types of fibroses and inflammatory processes.
