[Also in Division B7] Dirty oil on the surface of water in the bilge of a ship (see Division B7) is supplied via a float to a burner. In Fig. 2 the burner vessel is mounted on the float and comprises one or more pipes provided with wicks extending through the bottom of the vessel. Instead of the wicks, compressed air or gas jets which emerge from nozzles and are conducted on the oil surface and directed towards the centre of the float and then deflected into the pipes may cause the oil to be lifted into the vessel.</p> |
