COLLAPSIBLE ZOOM TYPE LENS BARREL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noise caused when collapsing zoom operation is performed by eliminating variance in the assembly of a drive unit for collapsing zoom or tilt in course of an operation without making the length of a lens barrel longer in a collapsible zoom type lens barrel. SOLUTION: By providing an abutting rib 4b abutting on the side surface of the bearing flange 2a of a fixed frame 2 in the drive unit 4, an axle-to-axle distance between the output gear 4a of the drive unit 4 and a drive gear 3 is set to a desired value without causing deviation due to the variance in the assembly or inertia force caused when stopping the motor of the drive unit 4 without making the length of the lens barrel longer, whereby the collapsing zoom operation is performed without causing the unwanted vibration and noise.
