PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film carrier which is equipped with a reading point for scanning photographic film and a film conveying mechanism for conveying photographic film on a conveying lane, where a take-up part for taking up the photographic film is arranged on the middle of the conveying lane and an ejection port for feeding out the photographic film passing through the take-up part to the outside is arranged at the end of the conveying lane, which is provided with an opening means for opening the part of the photographic film in a loop state based on the faulty take-up at the take-up part to the outside of housing space and which can be selectively operated between a first mode for ejecting the photographic film from the ejection port and a second mode for taking up the photographic film to the take-up part, and which enables a user to rapidly recognize the occurrence of the faulty take-up in the second mode. SOLUTION: The film carrier is provided with a film sensor 70 capable of detecting the photographic film F fed out from the ejection port 10b in the first mode, and is constituted so that the film sensor 70 detects the part of the photographic film in the loop state opened from the opening means 42 in the second mode.
