The housing (12) of the hammer drill (10) accommodates an electric drive (16) with the appropriate switch (18), a shaft (22) with a pinion (24), a transmission unit (26) with an intermediate shaft (28), a striking unit (36), a drive shaft (46) with a drive wheel (30) and the chucks (50). The intermediate shaft (28) is a smooth plain element holding the driving wheel (48) made of sintered metal, the driven wheel (32), and a slide bearing (45). The parts (30,32,45) are joined by press fitting and serve as securing unit for the output gear (35) and the wobble gear (38).
