The switch has an electrically conductive sensor area covered by an electrically-insulating cover plate (2). The plate is provided as a part of a capacitor having a capacitance. An electrically-conducting body (8) connects the sensor area with an evaluation circuit and is arranged between the plate and a support (5). Electronic components (18, 23) of the evaluation circuit are arranged on the support such that they protrude into a cavity (34), which is surrounded by the body.
