<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus capable of carrying out decoding compatible with encoding applied to a fade video or a dissolving video wherein the brightness of moving pictures temporally changes with a high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A variable length decoder 303 decodes encoded data 300 including index information 415 for denoting combinations of predictive errors of a predictive image signal with respect to a moving picture signal including a luminance signal and two color difference signals, motion vector information items 414, reference image numbers, and predictive parameters prepared in advance by the luminance signal and the two color difference signals, and a frame memory/prediction picture generator 308 generates a predictive image signal 412 according to the predictive parameter of the combination denoted by the decoded reference image numbers and the decoded index information and produces a reproduction moving picture signal by using the predictive error signal and the predictive image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
