METHOD FOR CUTTING WORKPIECE MADE OF ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a through hole in a workpiece made of an electrical conductive material precisely in shortened machining time by composite machining consisting of wire electrical discharge machining and water jet machining. SOLUTION: This method for cutting the workpiece 20 made of the electrical conductive material into a shape conforming to demand dimension 26 is provided. The through hole 22 having an inclined face 24 widening from an upper face toward a bottom face is cut in the workpiece 20 by first cutting being rough machining. The through hole 22 is finished to the required dimension 26 by second cutting being finish machining. The first cutting is performed by water jet machining, and the second cutting is performed by wire electrical discharge machining.
