<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered roller bearing and a vehicular pinion shaft supporting device capable of reducing rotation torque while restraining variation of the imparted pre-load. <P>SOLUTION: When the arithmetic mean roughness of a large end face of a tapered roller as the surface roughness is σ1 and the arithmetic mean roughness of a large flange face of the inner ring as the surface roughness is σ2, σ1 is equal to or more than 0.04 μm, and the composite roughness σ represented by a square root of a total sum of a square value of σ1 and a square value of σ2 is set to be equal to or lower than 0.17 μm. Further, crowning is applied to respective raceway surfaces of the outer ring and the inner ring and a rolling surface of the tapered roller, and a total crowning amount is set to be equal to or more than 50 μm, an outer ring crowning rate is set to be 40% or more, and a roller crowning rate is set to be 20% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
