<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining an amount of toner wastefully consumed without being transferred to the surface of recording paper when image formation is carried out on the second side of the recording paper during frame-less printing in double-sided print mode. <P>SOLUTION: In the frame-less print mode in which image formation is carried out two or more times over the entire area of the same recording paper, the following conditions are set: Iv1≥Iv2>Pv and Ih1≥Ih2>Ph; wherein Iv1 represents the vertical size of an image formed in the first image formation on the recording paper; Ih1 represents the horizontal size of the image; Iv2 represents the vertical size of an image formed in the second image formation carried out after the first image is formed and fixed on the recording paper and then the recording paper is conveyed to an image forming section again by a re-conveying means; Ih2 represents the horizontal size of the image; and Pv and Ph represent the vertical size and the horizontal size of the recording paper respectively.
