PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-halide lamp capable of obtaining a color temperature of 2,800 [K] to 3,700 [K] with high color rendering and high lamp efficiency and to provide a lighting system using the same. SOLUTION: The halide lamp has a color temperature of 2,800 [K] to 3,700 [K] and is filled with the following light emitting substances. That is, they comprise at least rare earth metal, Na and Ca, and the rare earth metal consists of at least one kind out of Dy, Tm, and Ho and at least one out of Ce and Pr. A composition ratio M<SB>A</SB>of a group A consisting of at least one kind out of Dy, Tm and Ho out of the rare earth metal is 2 [mol%] to 10 [mol%], a composition ratio M<SB>B</SB>of a group B consisting of at least one of Ce and Pr out of the rare earth metal is 0.5 [mol%] to 4 [mol%], a composition ratio M<SB>Na</SB>of Na is 35 [mol%] to 45 [mol%], and a composition ratio M<SB>Ca</SB>of Ca is 40 [mol%] to 60 [mol%].
