PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electroluminescent device in which an electrode layer is formed without applying a vapor deposition method or a sputtering method to an organic layer. SOLUTION: An positive electrode layer is vapor-deposited or film-formed by sputtering on one side face of a sheet substrate 16, and a positive hole transport layer and a light-emitting layer are sequentially applied and film-formed on its positive electrode layer. Moreover, a negative electrode layer is vapor-deposited or film-formed by sputtering on the outer peripheral face of a support rod 11. Then, by rotating the support rod 11 (outer peripheral face of negative electrode layer) while pressing it to the sheet substrate 16 (light-emitting layer), the light-emitting layer formed on the sheet substrate 16 is wound around and pasted together on all over the outer peripheral face of the negative electrode layer.
