PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable type operation device for a vehicle seat capable of preventing connection error of a cable from an operation lever side and a cable from a seat side in a seat tip-up mechanism or the like. SOLUTION: In the cable type operation device for the vehicle seat, the seat is connected to a locking mechanism for detachably fixing it to a vehicle body and operation force for unlocking is transmitted to the locking mechanism through the cable. The cables 3, 4 are removably connected on the midway by a connection part 2 and a joint lock knob 10 for retaining the locking mechanism side cable 4 such that the locking mechanism 5 is restricted in the unlocked state is provided on the connection part 2.
