PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk driving apparatus capable of shortening response time when reading and writing a data before and after taking out and inserting the same recording disk. SOLUTION: When loading a recording disk, the disk driving apparatus reads medium identification information of the recording disk by a medium kind acquisition part 21 and stores the information in memory 26, and also it is judged by a judging part 22 whether or not the medium identification information read and acquired this time is different from that read and acquired last time. When there is a difference in the medium identification information between this time and last time, a memory control part reads DMA information from the recording disk, and the DMA information is rewritten on the DMA information read and stored in the memory 26 last time, and when there is no difference in the medium identification information between this time and last time, the DMA information is not read from the recording disk, but the DMA information read and stored in the memory 26 last time is held.
