PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge for photosensitive recording medium in which it is obstructed that the cartridge is loaded erroneously to a recording and reproducing apparatus for recording medium being a different kind, thereby, damage given to recorded data and the recording and reproducing apparatus is prevented. SOLUTION: The cartridge is provided with a groove part 29 in which a plane part 20c is formed at a front plane 20a of a loading direction C of a cartridge 20 housing a photosensitive recording medium 21 freely rotatably over whole length of the width direction and the plane part 20c is extended to a direction being orthogonal to the loading direction C, a shutter opening member 43 of a normal recording and reproducing apparatus presses a shutter 24 and opens an opening 25 by engaging to the groove part 29 and moving, on the contrary, when it is inserted to a recording and reproducing apparatus 10 to which the cartridge 20 is not yet correspondent, the plane part 20c of the front plane 20a interferes to a shutter opening and closing pin 11 and obstructs insertion, and erroneous loading of the cartridge 20 is prevented.
