The offset printing machine has a gear drive with a motor for synchronised drive of the cylinders (36-39), where the cylinders of adjacent printing stations have different operating phases. There is a switchable translation drive for operating the cylinders during an operating stage outside the printing. The translation drive (65-68) has a translation ratio matching one of the phase points, so that the common rotation of the cylinders is adjustable.
