The method involves inserting a reinforced unit such as a plate insert (5) made of a sheet material in a molded hollow space (4), and holding the unit at holding points (8-11) by a holder (12). The unit is injection molded with a non-corroded plastic melt (18) e.g. polypropylene melt. The holder is moved away from the holding points in a time point that is preset based on a filling level of the hollow space and/or a flow behavior of the melt, such that the unit is completely injection molded with the melt during the filling process.
