PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive filter medium having superior adsorption and removal properties for oil mist, malodor or smoke, lightweight, and easily disposable. SOLUTION: This filter medium is formed by lowering moisture content in siloxane and silanol salt multi-molecular solution to form multimolecular gel-like matter of siloxane and silanol salt; discharging the gel-like matter onto a transfer belt in the vertical direction with required linear material diameter, number of linear material and foamed magnitude from a foamed linear material forming nozzle heated to 250°C or higher; and reciprocating the nozzle in the direction orthogonal to the transfer belt, and meanderingly dropping the gel-like matter to fuse, tangle and laminate it to obtain required width, thickness and porosity.
