A thin-layer reinforcing material which improves the mechanical properties including tensile strength and tear strength of a base to be reinforced which is thin, lightweight, and flexible, while maintaining features thereof such as thickness, weight, and flexibility. The thin-layer reinforcing material (10) is a thin reinforcing tape which comprises a tape-form object obtained by infiltrating an adhesive resin (11) into a bundle (1) of reinforcing-fiber single yarns which have undergone opening so as to widen the width thereof to 1.3 mm or larger per 1,000 yarns. The reinforcing tape (10) is applied to a base to be reinforced (20) to thereby enhance the mechanical properties of the base to be reinforced (20).
