The controller (3) has a temperature sensor (33) and a controller (31) to evaluate an estimated temperature of a motor winding (20a). The sensor and the controller (31) have a memory unit to store the estimated temperature, and an evaluation unit including a set of temperature-rising value-evaluation terms. The evaluation unit evaluates an optimal- rising value of the temperature using the terms according to operating conditions of the motor, when electric current flows through the winding. A regeneration unit adds the optimal-value to the estimated temperature for updating the temperature.
