<p>The invention relates to a synthetic medium for the culture and/or freezing and/or preservation and/or transfer of cells or embryos of human or animal origin. The inventive medium takes the form of a solution comprising a base medium which is free of natural human or animal proteins, the basic components of said base medium including salts essentially of calcium, sodium and potassium, at least one amino acid or an amino acid derivative, preferably vitamins and, optionally, at least one antibiotic. In addition to the base medium, the medium also comprises at least one substitute for natural human or animal proteins, said substitute based on recombinant molecules being formed by combining TGF beta 1 (Transforming growth factor beta 1) and I'LGF-I (Insulin like growth factor I) with at least one growth factor or cytokine selected from the group containing LIF (leukaemia inhibitory factor), GM-CSF (granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor) and bFGF (basic fibroblast growth factor).</p> |
