<p>The invention relates to a process and a device for manufacturing highly resistant product of metal powders, such as metal profiles, by hot extrusion. According to the invention, the process comprises the continuous extrusion of the metal powder, concomitantly with the compacting thereof in oxidation-proof atmosphere, while increasing the powder temperature to the forging temperature, so as to plastically deform and bond the metal particles, thereby eliminating the pores and resulting in the compact metal extrudate having 100% of the theoretical density of the basic alloy and being delivered continuously, as long as the supply is continuous and an axial vibration motion is applied to the output. The claimed device for carrying out the process is provided with a supply funnel (1), wherethrough a free metal powder (P) is fed to an extrusion container (2) wherein a worm (3) is rotating, said container (2) being also provided with an orifice (a) for the neutral gas blast to prevent the oxidation of the metal powder, with some orifices (b) for the gas discharge during compacting, with an induction or resistance heating system (4), with an extrusion die (5) wherethrough a water cooling channel (c) passes and with a system (6) for taking over the hot extrudate (E).</p> |
