A remote meter-reading data collecting and repeating device and method are provided to increase meter reading success rate by increasing the number of meter reading times by directly transmitting various commands from the repeating device to a remote meter reading terminal. A remote meter-reading data collecting and repeating device is composed of: a power supply unit; a remote meter reading server communication unit(320) communicating with a remote meter reading server; a remote meter reading terminal communication unit(330) communicating with a remote meter reading terminal; an I/O unit; a sensor unit detecting the surrounding environment; a state checking unit monitoring and displaying various I/O and data sent from the sensor unit at all times; a timer(370) generating and managing the self-time; a memory storing operation logic and meter reading data; and a control unit(390). The control unit comprises a meter reading schedule checking unit(392) checking whether time information sent from the timer corresponds to a pre-set meter reading schedule or not; a meter reading data collecting unit(394) connected to plural remote meter reading terminals to transmit a meter reading command and collect meter reading data when the meter reading time is confirmed in the meter reading schedule checking unit; and a meter reading data repeating unit(396) connected to the remote meter reading server to transmit the collected meter reading data when the meter reading data is normally collected in the meter reading data collecting unit.
