METHOD FOR COMPENSATING LENS POSITION ERROR IN MOBILE TERMINAL

A method for correcting a lens position error of a mobile terminal is provided to increase a maximum focus value search speed by omitting an unnecessary maximum focus value search process by correcting a lens position error by controlling a step size and the number of lens movement. A certain subject is sensed in a photograph mode of a mobile terminal. A focus value with respect to the sensed subject is detected and stored while moving a lens. A currently detected focus value and the immediately previous focus value as stored are compared. If a code of a tilt of the focus value is changed, a lens position corresponding to the immediately previous focus value is set as an optimum focal position. The lens of the mobile terminal is moved to the optimum focal position.
