A multi-functional video image detection system is provided to accurately detect traffic accidents by discriminating vehicle stops in a normal state and a congestion state. A multi- functional video image detection system includes a camera(10), an image analyzer(20), a server(30), and a control center(40). The camera is installed on a road and takes an image of the road. The image analyzer is connected to the camera, analyzes data of vehicles through a motion tracking scheme on the image signal from the camera, compares the image of the current frame with a reference image and the previous frame, and determines whether a traffic state of the road is normal. The image analyzer generates an alarm signal, when an abnormal situation occurs, and transmits the generated information and corresponding images to the server. The server is connected to the camera and includes a reference value database. The control center is connected to the server and remotely monitors the traffic state of the road. |
