AUTOMOTIVE SWITCH BY USE PROXIMITY SENSOR PRINCIPLE

An automotive switch using the principle of a proximity sensor is provided to improve safety and stability for a driver, by improving durability and preventing contact errors of a stop lamp switch and a clutch pedal. An automotive switch using the principle of a proximity sensor is mounted to a vehicle to control signals. The automotive switch comprises a switch housing(1), a detection unit(20), and a terminal(4). The switch housing mounts therein a switch circuit board(3) and is provided with a switch connector(5) at an outside. The detection unit has a coil(2) at one inside of the switch housing to enclose the switch circuit board. When an object(10) accesses the coil, the detection unit determines existence of the object through decrease and increase of magnetic flux by electromagnetic induction. The terminal is connected to the switch circuit board that processes signals received from the detection unit. The terminal transmits signals to a stop lamp, a clutch pedal, or a brake pedal to start the vehicle or light on and off the stop lamp.
