CABLE MODEM SET-TOP-BOX APPARATUS CAPABLE OF MULTI-ROOM BROADCASTING, AND METHOD THEREOF

A cable modem set-top box having a multi-room broadcasting function and a multi-room broadcasting method thereof are provided to enable users to individually watch cable TV(TeleVision) broadcast through each simple box connected to one set-top box subscribing for a cable TV broadcasting service even though there are many rooms in one house, avoid installing additional set-top boxes in the rooms and remove a need of additional subscription for the cable TV broadcasting service. A multi-room transmitter(210) receives a broadcasting signal via a tuner(132) and raises its frequency level to a predetermined degree. A divider(220) divides the broadcasting signal inputted from the multi-room transmitter into a plurality of broadcasting signals. A plurality of simple boxes(230,232) demodulates the broadcasting signals applied from the divider. The multi-room transmitter receives the broadcasting signal from a head end(110) via the tuner and a DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) cable modem(136). A switching unit(250) makes the broadcasting signal transferred from the DOCSIS cable modem to the multi-room transmitter.
