A vacuum generating device of a food preserving container is provided to quickly make the inside of the container filled with food stuffs to be vacuum state by slidably reciprocating an operating unit along a guide rod in a horizontal direction. The vacuum generating device of a food preserving container is composed of a pair of air discharge units(20) fixed on the upside of a lid(10) of the container storing food stuffs with spacing a predetermined gap, and exhausting the internal air of the container to the outside in turn; a connecting unit(30) for connecting the air discharge units by a guide rod(32) centering on a barrier(31) having the predetermined diameter and moving the air through the guide rod; and an operating unit(40) having an inner diameter sliding with coming into contact with an inner diametral surface of an O-ring(36) combined to an outer diameter of the barrier, covering the outside of the guide rod, and executing a pumping motion with sliding along the guide rod.
