<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system for introducing a common file system, limiting a period and a capacity, and storing various kinds of data in a server, and to provide an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming system includes an image forming device, a data box server connected to the image forming device via a network so as to store the various kinds of data for forming an image, and a card issuing/updating terminal connected to the data box server via the network. The card issuing/updating terminal designates a usage period and a usage capacity, issues a new card, updates the usage period and usage capacity concerning the issued card, and transmits the usage period and usage capacity to the data box server. The data box server secures a storage area corresponding to the transmitted usage period and usage capacity, permits access with the card used thereto from the image forming device, and preserves/reads the various kinds of data with respect to the storage area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
