<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain scattering of wear debris caused by the operation of an electromagnetic clutch mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A drive system comprises a housing 11, an armature 41 rotatably supported by the housing, and the electromagnetic clutch mechanism which has a rotor 42 and coil 46 positioned oppositely to the armature and rotatably supported by the housing and is stored in the housing. The armature and rotor are frictionally connected with each other so as to transmit power between the armature and rotor by means of electromagnetic attraction force generated between the armature and rotor when the coil carries current. The drive system is also provided with a ring-shaped magnet 44 which holds a plurality of polarities circumferentially and is fixed on an outer periphery of the rotor, and a sensor for sensing a polarity change of the magnet in response to rotation of the rotor. The magnet has a ring-shaped wall section 44b which is separated radially outside of the armature and sticks out from a contact surface between the armature and rotor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
