PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device capable of reproducing data recorded until data recording is interrupted even when the data recording is interrupted due to a drop of the device. SOLUTION: A main CPU 11 controls it that files of a prescribed form, wherein real data files and management information files are arranged in pairs, are stored to a first folder provided to a hard disk drive 4. When a drop sensor 13 senses a drop of the device for a prescribed time or over, a sub CPU 14 controls a regulator 12 so that so that the regulator 12 forcibly disconnects an electric power to be supplied to the hard disk drive 4.
