PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator easily ridable for passengers having no feeling of dropping forward, even in the case of the downward escalator. SOLUTION: In the escalator circulating steps 10 on which passengers get in a predetermined direction along a predetermined track between an entrance and an exist, a region operated to be partially elevated is provided in the vicinity of the entrance of the steps 10 moving downward. Demarcation rubber having a riser is provided at footboard front ends of the steps 10, and the steps 10 are elevated from 75 mm to 150 mm in the elevated region. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
