PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely determining the material of an inner pot, in a rice cooker having a function determining whether the inner pot is made of a material with a low thermal conductivity or a material with a high thermal conductivity. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is provided with: a means outputting a low thermal conductivity signal in a first condition where a first detecting temperature detected by a pot temperature sensor after starting the cooking is less than a first reference temperature (ST5 and ST6), outputting a high thermal conductivity signal in a second condition where the first detecting temperature exceeds a second reference temperature higher than the first reference temperature (ST7 and ST8), and outputting a redetermination request signal in a third condition other than the first and second conditions (ST7 and ST9); a temperature gradient determination means determining a temperature lowering gradient of the pot bottom in a burner extinction state after outputting the redetermination request signal (ST11); and a means outputting a high thermal conductivity signal when the temperature lowering gradient is a reference gradient or more (ST12 and ST14), and outputting a low thermal conductivity signal when the temperature lowering gradient is less than the reference gradient (ST12 and ST13).
