PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leading edge of an electronic endoscope of excellent durability which prevents disconnection or buckling of signal line in signal cable connected to the circuit board from occurring for a long period even when signal cable is bent or twisted due to the repeated endoscope inspections. SOLUTION: While a plurality of signal lines 12 constituting a signal cable 11 is positioned only at the area along the inside of the outer cacing of the signal cable 11, a flexible core material 15 is positioned so as to prevent each signal line 12 from moving in the inside direction of the signal cable 11 at the area inside the signal line 12 within the signal cable 11.
