System for refilling a fuel cell (FC) wherein the system includes a main container (4) having at least one movable fuel container (6), at least one movable electrolyte container (5), and at least one spent fuel chamber (LVFC, SVFC). A valve (V) which regulates or controls fluid flow between the main container (4) and a fuel cell (FC) and vice versa. A method of refilling a fuel cell (FC) provides for moving the at one movable fuel container (6) and the at least one movable electrolyte container (5) to cause spent fuel from fuel cell (FC) to enter the at least one spent fuel chamber (LVFC, SVFC).
