The device has a compensation circuit (150), which forms a several of candidate values of a mixer control signal at a mixer (120). The mixer control signal controls the variable of non-linear intermediate modulation product of second order arrangement in a common signal. The circuit analyses samples from a detector (154), which corresponds with the candidate values of the mixer control signals. The circuit evaluates one of candidate values of mixer control signals as a compensation value. An independent claim is also included for a calibration method for automatic selection of a compensation value for reducing a non-linear inter modulation product of second order in an output signal of a mixer, which outputs a mixed signal.
