DECODING APPARATUS, DECODING METHOD, AND DISK TYPE RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoding display apparatus of a coded video signal which can specify the display position and display size of a sub-video precisely in a frame unit, and is flexible in a specifying method.

SOLUTION: The decoding apparatus comprises: an auxiliary information analysis means to analyze auxiliary information including display auxiliary information about the display position and size of the sub-image and application time information to apply the display auxiliary information; a reference time counter to indicate a reference time for decoding/displaying the video; a comparison means to compare the above application time information with the above reference time counter; a display screen forming means to form a display screen using a main video and the sub-video; and a control means to control the display screen forming means.
