<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which enables the production of methane gas from ligneous biomass and produces electricity from the resultant methane gas through a generator. <P>SOLUTION: A material containing at least a group of methanogens is added to chipped ligneous biomass. The inside of a silo is intentionally evacuated with a vacuum pump to bring the inside of the silo to an anaerobic environment. In this state, methane gas is produced. In this case, preferably, water as a supernatant obtained by subjecting mud water collected from a region where at least a group of methanogens live, to nitrogen air purge, and, after the elapse of a predetermined period of time, separating the supernatant from the mud, is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
