PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire for a motorcycle capable of compatibly realizing the grip force during the straight-ahead drive, the deflection absorbing property and the treading property during the flat tire at high level. SOLUTION: The pneumatic radial tire has a draining pattern 13 having the directivity in a tread part 3 of a tread. A major groove 15 of the pattern 13 is continuous from a center area 17 to both side areas 19. The angle of the major groove 15 in the circumferential direction is 0-50°in the center area 17, and≥50°in both side areas 19. The average placing density of non-extensible highly-elastic cords for constituting a spiral belt layer is 40-60 pieces/50 mm in the center area 17, and 20-40 pieces/50 mm in both side areas 19.
