PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and efficiently manufacturing building materials excellent in decorative design, weather resistance and water resistance. SOLUTION: A coating film containing a cross-linked hydrophilic resin particle is applied on the surface of the building materials, and then water-based ink containing substantially no binding agent is discharged on the coating film surface so that coloring and/or patterning of the building materials are/is performed at the of resolution of 150-600 DPI.
