PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring instrument for petanque which can quickly and accurately measure a distance between a target ball (diameter of 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm) being called a "beaut" and a metal ball (71 mm to 73 mm) having a hollow structure. SOLUTION: A fixing shaft rod which is provided on the bottom surface of a tape measure case housing a tape measure which linearly stretches is placed on the ground, and the reference point of a guide plate is set in a manner to be adjusted to the central section of the target ball. The scale is let out from the tape measure case, and the scale distal end section to which a cushioning material is attached is brought into contact with the side surface of the ball. Thus, a distance measurement between the target ball and the ball is performed by this distance measuring instrument for petanque. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
