In order to obtain three-dimensional images from a digital video stream, certain modifications have been made to the current MPEG2 coders; software and hardware changes in different parts of the coding process are made. In effect, the structures and the video_sequence of the video data stream are modified to include the necessary flags to identify at the bit level the TDVision(R) technology image type.
