The method involves in-situ-regulating section of structures, which are arranged parallel to each other and having lengthwise slots (12), running toward a central expansion, into a building surface with a pre-determined depth. Between the lengthwise slots, a bar, running in a main direction is provided. A displacement gauge or a strain gauge is attached on the bar. Provided in the main stretch direction before and behind the displacement gauge and transverse to the main stretch direction is a transverse slot (14) allowing the stretch of the bar to be measured. An independent claim is included for a device.
